so i looked into the hubs some more, namely mine. the older porland's did indeed have a 130mm hub. the 2011 rear hub is 135mm OLD. i just measured mine today. so trek does indeed get a clue, sometimes
I had the opposite problem, I went with a SA IGH just for the 130mm spacing on the 8sp disc. I already had a CX frame that I wanted to use for my commuter, and the Shimano IGHs were 135mm for disc.
